The Government Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Paraspani, Godda was established vide Notification No. 60(3) dated 31st March 2002 by the Department of Health, Education & Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand.
It is the only Government Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital in Jharkhand, founded as per the norms of the Central Council of Homoeopathy (now Sub-National Commission of Homoeopathy), New Delhi.
The Government of Jharkhand acquired 18 acres of land at Paraspani, located about 20 km from Godda town, for the college and hospital buildings.
The foundation stone of the college building was laid by the first Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Babulal Marandi, on 23rd September 2002. The college was formally inaugurated on 28th February 2004 by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Arjun Munda, in the presence of dignitaries including Shri Dilip Prasad (Chairman, JPSC), Shri Bahura Ekka (Vice-Chancellor, Vinoba Bhave University), Hon’ble Education Minister Shri P.N. Singh, Shri Gopal Prasad Singh (Member, JPSC), Dr. Amreshwar Prasad (Founder Principal), Shri Pradeep Yadav (Ex-MP), and other eminent guests.
The college is recognized by CCH / Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India (vide F.No.R12014/04/2007-EP, dated 26/02/2009 and Ministry of AYUSH Letter No. R-17014/53/2013-EP(H) dated 08-10-2016).
It is affiliated to Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh, since session 2009–2010 (Letter No. 1592 dated 23/12/2010).
